Plastics in the creative sector: Blow-ups

Thanks to our many years of experience with plastics such as polyester, polyurethane, polyurea and polyethylene, we can blow up anything to gigantic proportions here at Maropol. What starts out small grows literally and metaphorically to enormous dimensions. All kinds of light-hearted shapes are magnified by Maropol.

It all starts on a small scale with a sketch on the designer’s or artist’s drawing board. Then we make sure that the object takes on the right shape and size in the right proportions. This has resulted in figures, large and small, livening up playgrounds, amusement parks, events and public spaces all over the country.

Some examples of what you might come across in amusement parks or on the streets are giants with giant blankets and giant slices of pie, the big wheel in Drievliet amusement park, which is no less than 32 metres high, and two giant whale tails that are 16 metres tall.

We will be happy to provide your event too with mega-exposure. For instance, we gave shape to the giant shoes concept for the ING marathon, with huge footsteps (28 metres long), giant shoes that travelled on water and massive beakers.

Maropol understands theme-park designers and artists. We take the illusion they want to create and give it shape with our team of plastics experts. Artists such as Tom Claassen and David Blade entrust the production of their artworks to Maropol. Rabbits and a hippopotamus, or a giant pole dancer? Maropol can blow them all up!
