Plastics in the creative sector: Moulding PU

How hard do you want it? In that respect we are extremely flexible at Maropol with our polyurethane products. We have a solution for every problem. Whether it has to be as soft as chewing gum or as hard as a golf ball. We would be pleased to make a unique customised product combining your question with our know-how!

Maropol has years of experience with moulding polyurethane. We operate in such sectors as the dredging, offshore and building industries. That is why we know exactly how we need to put together your product. Polyurethane is cast in moulds created on the basis of 3D milling models. Polyurethane is used because of the favourable properties this material has to offer. For instance, polyurethane has high-strength mechanical properties, great resistance to wear and tear, high elasticity and dynamic load-bearing capacity and flexibility over a wide temperature range. These properties are determined by the polyurethane’s composition and curing (hardening) time.

Products such as shock absorbers, fenders and other shapes have ended up in amusement parks including Walibi (the Crazy River ride) and Duinrell (Splash). PU has a very wide range of uses and can be moulded into virtually any shape as one-offs or in small or medium-sized series.

No shape is too weird with polyurethane. Whether you want a cube or an organic shape, in a hard or soft material, Maropol will do it for you!
