Plastics in the building industry: Moulding PU

Maropol manufactures cast products from polyurethane (PU). Polyurethane consists of two components or multiple components. Polyurethane products are manufactured using a hot moulding process.

The moulding process takes place manually without pressure in open shapes and moulds at a processing temperature ranging from 20 to 80 degrees Celsius. Depending on the application, the product needs to spend 18 to 24 hours curing (hardening) at a temperature ranging from 60 to 100 degrees Celsius. Ultimately a product is obtained with high-strength mechanical properties, great resistance to wear and tear, high elasticity and dynamic load-bearing capacity and flexibility over a wide temperature range. The products are available in a range of durometers from soft to hard (25 to 85 shore A).

Moulded PU has a very wide range of uses and can be moulded into virtually any shape as one-offs or in small or medium-sized series. Our many years of experience in moulding PU are a guarantee that we will be able to produce work tailored to suit any conditions.
